Code Remix

CODE REMIX (formerly Beats Unlocked) brings coding to life through a fun and engaging workshop that unlocks computer science opportunities for middle and high school students in historically underrepresented communities.

Educators lead students through an interactive workshop where students create musical beats using JavaScript block-based coding and ultimately participate in a beat showcase where they share their work with peers. JavaScript is a popular programming language, and block-based programming means that students will use a visual drag-and-drop environment (instead of typing) to create their programs.

Through this experience, Code Remix provides a way for students to learn some basic coding, get creative and see that coding has many applications that include artistic expression.
