Engineer for the Week

Startfield is proud to be a partner of Meta’s Engineer for the Week (EFTW) to create more access to STEM education. Started in 2018, EFTW is a STEM program that introduces historically underrepresented learners (ages 11-18) to engineering. It takes place year-round and is led by adult facilitators.

During the EFTW workshop learners build tech prototypes that address a social issue of their choice. Upon completing the program, learners will understand how to use the engineering process, discover that everyone has the power to develop solutions for social good and know that engineers come from diverse backgrounds.

Program Details

  • 8-10 hour workshop (flexible)
  • Facilitator training provided
  • Facilitator stipends available
  • 1:Group computer to student ratio
  • No prior coding experience required
